Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds
There is so much to learn about Ruby-Throated hummingbirds. First off, a male’s wings can beat up to 70 times per second! Females’ wings can only beat up to 50 times per second because they are 10% heavier! They can have 1450-1650 feathers! Who knew such tiny creatures could have so many feathers?! Ruby-Throated hummingbirds are the only type of hummingbird that breeds east from the Mississippi River. They are also picky eaters. They refuse to drink nectar with less than 12% sugar.
